Spooky Season in Santa Barbara

Whether you’re excited to take a trip to a pumpkin patch, visit a corn maze, or enjoy music, costumes, and candy – spooky season is finally here. Fall in Montecito and Santa Barbara means an abundance of harvest-themed celebrations and plenty of family-friendly events. Festivals are fun outings for the whole family or for dropping by with friends to share laughs, tastes, tunes, and sweet memories. We’ve gathered some ideas of upcoming activities for celebrating Autumn and Halloween in and around Santa Barbara, all of which are outdoors so you can enjoy the beauty of the season!

PUMPKIN PATCHES


Pick your pumpkins and capture prime photo opportunities at Big Dave’s or Solvang.


Big Dave’s Pumpkin Patch

Daily through October 31st, 12-9 PM

Located conveniently at La Cumbre Plaza, this local patch offers a variety of kids activities and an abundant selection of pumpkins, squash, and ornamental gourds to choose from for the perfect harvest home décor.


Solvang Farmer Pumpkin Patch

Open through October 31st, 10 AM-6PM

An autumn extravaganza with pumpkins and festivities. Highlights include a 14-acre corn maze, kid’s maze and night maze.

HARVEST FESTIVALS & MORE


Halloween falls on a Monday this year - all the more reason to take advantage of the weekend’s Halloween entertainment! Vote for your favorite scarecrow, take a wagon ride, or visit with farm (and zoo!) animals.


Underwood Fall Festival

October 29th & 30th, 9 AM-6 PM

Visit Underwood’s 25th Annual Fall Harvest Festival for the All About Pumpkins weekend. Find all varieties of pumpkins, live music, animal shows, corn maze, and wagon rides.


Boo at the Zoo

October 21st-30th, 5 PM-8 PM

Take the kids trick-or-treating at the Santa Barbara Zoo where they can visit the animals, take a Zoo Train ride, watch mad science experiments, or play in the bounce houses.

Thriller Dance Festival

October 29th, 2 PM

Join World Dance for Humanity at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Gardens for a family-friendly daytime dance fest. Watch dance groups perform or perform in an organized flash mob!

 

Halloween Monster Mash

October 29th, 3 PM-6PM

Come in your best costume and join DJ Frank in Paseo Nuevo’s Center Court for an early evening of family fun, trick-or-treating and a few additional spooks.

 

Halloween Costume Cruise

October 31st, 12:30 PM-3:30 PM

Hop aboard the Double Dolphin with Santa Barbara Sailing Center for an afternoon Halloween costume cruise along the Pacific.
